Advanced Care Clinic: Construct and equip a clinic on the Tahlequah campus that offers advanced clinical and surgical care. This new clinic will address unmet needs, and extend Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry services, teaching and student practicum experiences.
Cash Gift: Refers to gift to the Embrace the Vision campaign of cash or convertible stocks or bonds. The gift may be made in a single transfer or in installments over the five years of the campaign.
Clinical Equipment Planned Replacement Endowment: Provide funding to enable the Tahlequah campus and clinics to establish a planned replacement program for both the teaching and practice equipment assuring patients, students and faculty of current technology.
Comprehensive Campaign: NSUOCO Embrace the Vision campaign includes elements of capital, endowment and expendable funds; hence it is referred to as a comprehensive campaign.
Employee Giving campaign: The engagement of NSUOCO faculty and staff in the Embrace the Vision campaign through personal or payroll deduction gifts. This campaign demonstrates on-campus commitment to the goals of the campaign.
Endowment: A donor designated gift to establish an investment account to provide perpetual underwriting of a program at Northeastern State University that is managed by the NSU Foundation.
Endowed Faculty Chairs: Underwrite NSUOCO faculty chairs, professorships and lectureships to attract and retain academic leaders.
Endowed PIONEERS in Optometry General Support Fund: Underwrite funding for continuing faculty professional study and engagement. Endowed NSUOCO Research Programs: Underwrite opportunities for professional and academic research to advance the optometric education offered at NSUOCO and to enhance the academic recognition and rigor of the institution. Endowed Student Scholarships: Underwrite named scholarships for students recognizing legendary NSUOCO educational leaders such as Bezan, Bright, Cyert and Van Veen.
Facebook: NSUOCO has a Facebook page (Embracethevision) to encourage engagement and interaction among alumni and friends to support the college and the campaign.
The Lesley L. Walls Vision Center: Construct and equip a low vision and vision remediation and rehabilitation clinic in the 7,000 square foot area on the second floor of Building C of the Broken Arrow campus. This clinic will serve unmet care needs of Tulsa area patients, provide teaching/research opportunities to adjunct staff and offer a diverse clinical/practice experience to NSUOCO students. This clinic will be named for Dr. Les Walls, founding Dean of NSUOCO.
Mission Statement: Embrace the Vision is the campaign for Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry to ensure it continually advances as a leader in premier optometric education. Our mission is to seek monetary support, time and knowledge from alumni, faculty, students, staff and friends to accomplish short- and long-term goals identified by the college to improve the quality of education to students and services provided to patients.
New Tahlequah Facility Design Fund: Provide planning and design expendable funds to engage architects and planners to achieve a long-term NSUOCO goal. Define the features, functions and design perimeters for an academic, clinical and research complex on the Tahlequah campus. Penisten Road Show: NSUOCO Dean Doug Penisten is committed to meeting with alumni and friends to share the vision for the future of NSUOCO. He is scheduling local visits across the state, hence, the road show theme.
Planned Gift: A gift to the Embrace the Vision campaign through an instrument such as a will, trust or insurance policy.
Strategic Plan: Under the direction of NSUOCO Dean Doug Penisten, the NSUOCO faculty and staff created a document identifying the short- and long-term goals of the institution. This document provides the vision for the future of NSUOCO.
Steering Committee: The Embrace the Vision campaign is directed by a volunteer board of 12 NSUOCO alumni and friends. The Committee is co-chaired by Michael Bennett and Robert Zoellner.

It provides current information, background details, downloads, archived communications and secured online donation opportunity. |
