  Dr. Harold Battenfield - Vice Chair
Harold graduated from Northeastern State University in 1959 with a bachelor of science in Chemistry. Harold received his medical degree from the University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas. Harold is a practicing orthopedic surgeon in Tulsa, OK, where he lives with his wife Mary who graduated from Northeastern State University in 1956 with a bachelor’s degree in Education. Harold holds four U.S. patents for devices used in the practice of orthopedic medicine. In 2002, Harold was honored as an Outstanding Alumnus by the Northeastern State University Alumni Association. Harold and his wife Mary are both Life Members of the Northeastern State University Alumni Association.

  Mrs. Kim Cherry
Kim is the vice president of Administration for Northeastern State University. Kim received her bachelor of arts in Sociology from the University of Central Oklahoma in 1977, and in 1980, she completed her bachelor of business administration in Accounting also at UCO. Kim began her career at Northeastern in 1989 and was promoted to vice president in January of 2004. Dr. Myron Cherry, Kim’s husband, is a chemistry professor at Northeastern. Kim and Myron reside in Tahlequah, OK. Kim serves on the Executive and Investment Committees, and is the Chair of the Audit Committee for the Northeastern State University Foundation Board.

  Mr. Don Coffman
Don attended Northeastern State University then transferred to Oklahoma Baptist University where he received a bachelor’s degree. Don is also a 1973 graduate of Washington University of St. Louis with a master’s degree in Health Administration. Don was a hospital administrator and later co-founded a health management company in California. Don is also retired from the restaurant business, during which time he was a strong community supporter of Northeastern State University. Don’s wife Barbara is a 1976 graduate of Northeastern State University and a teacher in Tahlequah Public Schools. Don and Barbara reside in Tahlequah, OK. Don serves on the Nominating Committee of the Northeastern State University Foundation Board.

  Mr. Larry Dotson, Secretary-Treasurer
Larry graduated in 1971 from Northeastern State University with a bachelor of science in Accounting. Larry is the owner of Dotson Financial Services, a financial consultation firm. Larry retired as the chief of the Tahlequah Fire Department after 20 years of service. Larry and his wife Linda, a 1972 graduate of Northeastern State University with a bachelor of arts in Education, reside in Tahlequah, OK. In 2004, Larry was inducted into the Northeastern State University Athletic Hall of Fame. As a kicker at Northeastern State University in the early '70s Larry set many school records, several of which still stand today. Larry is also a member of the Tahlequah Industrial Trust Authority.

  Mr. Mike Fine
Mike is a 1970 graduate of Northeastern State University with a bachelor of science in Economics. Mike is the president of Fine Airport Parking in Tulsa, OK. Mike, a successful entrepreneur, started his business in 1983. Mike was honored by the Northeastern State University Alumni Association as an Outstanding Alumnus in 1993. Mike and his wife Sherry, who attended the University of Arkansas, reside in Bixby, OK.

  Mr. Jesse Gailey
Jesse received his bachelor of arts in Business from Northeastern State University in 1964. Jesse retired as the president of Totah Telephone Company in 1998, a family-owned business that celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 2004. Jesse and his wife Marilyn, who also attended Northeastern, reside in Ochelata, OK. Jesse and Marilyn are both Life Members of the Northeastern State University Alumni Association. Jesse serves on the Nominating Committee of the Northeastern State University Foundation Board.

  Ms. Toni Garner
Toni received her bachelor of Science in Education from Northeastern State University in 1978. She opened Toni’s Flowers & Gifts in Tulsa over two decades ago and has collected awards for her innovative floral designs. She has appeared in publications including Veranda, Architectural Digest, and Traditional Home. She has been honored as Oklahoma Designer of the Year and has been named Oklahoma Magazine's "Best Florist" for 10 years running.

  Dr. Jim Gore – Chair
Jim graduated from Northeastern State University in 1991 with a bachelor of science in Chemistry. Jim went on to receive his D.D.S. degree from the University of Oklahoma and is a practicing dentist in Pryor, OK, where he and his wife Becky reside. Becky is also a Northeastern State University graduate who received her bachelor of science in Political Science in 1991. While at Northeastern State University, both Jim and Becky were members of the President’s Leadership Class, and they are now both Life Members of the Northeastern State University Alumni Association, where Jim served as president of the Northeastern State University in 2002. As a student at Northeastern State University, Jim was named the Outstanding Senior in 1991.

  Mr. Jay Hannah
Jay is a 1977 graduate of Northeastern State University with a bachelor of arts in Speech Education. Jay went on to receive his master’s degree in Speech from Oklahoma State University. Jay is the executive vice president of Bancfirst, and he resides in Norman, OK, with his wife Valerie who received both her bachelor and masters degrees in Speech Pathology from Northeastern State University in 1977 and 1989. Both Jay and Valerie are Life Members of the Northeastern State University Alumni Association, and in 1994, Jay was chosen as the Outstanding Alumni by the Northeastern State University Alumnus Association.

  Mr. Todd Hembree
Todd graduated in 1987 from Northeastern State University with a bachelor of arts in Political Science. Todd then attended Notre Dame where he earned his law degree. Mr. Hembree is an attorney with Hembree and Hembree Law Firm in Stilwell, OK. Todd and his wife Jenine, who is a 1989 graduate of San Diego University, live in Stilwell. Todd is a Life Member of the Northeastern State University Alumni Association. Todd serves on the Nominating Committee for the Northeastern State University Foundation Board.

  Mr. James K. Howard
Jim is a University of Oklahoma graduate with a bachelor of arts in History and a master of arts in Journalism and Mass Communication. Jim retired as the vice president of Administration from Northeastern State University on December 31, 2003 after 25 years of service. Jim is also a U.S. Air Force veteran. Jim has been involved with numerous organizations during his time in Tahlequah, including the Rotary Club, the Boys and Girls Club of Tahlequah, Tahlequah Public Schools Foundation, and the Indian Nations Soccer Club. Jim and his wife Lynn, a 1975 graduate of Northeastern State University and current director of the University Center at Northeastern State University, reside in Tahlequah, OK. Both Jim and Lynn are Life Members of the Northeastern State University Alumni Association. Jim serves of the Executive Committee and chairs the Investment Committee of the Northeastern State University Foundation.

  Mr. William H. Langley, Jr.
Bill graduated from Northeastern State University in 1969 with a bachelor of science in Business Administration. Bill is the owner of Eastside Abstract Company in Stilwell, OK, where he lives with his wife Linda, who is also a Northeastern State University graduate with a bachelor of science in Business Education. Both Bill and Linda are Life Members of the Northeastern State University Alumni Association.

  Mr. Gary Parker
Gary is a 1968 graduate of Northeastern State University with a bachelor of arts in Business Administration and Economics. Gary is a C.P.A. and is the president of Moffitt Parker and Company Accounting Firm in Muskogee, OK. Gary’s wife Carol received both her bachelor's and master's degrees in Education from Northeastern State University.

  Mr. Wellon B. Poe, Jr.
Wellon is a 1984 graduate of Northeastern State University with a bachelor of arts in Political Science. Wellon went on to attend the University of Oklahoma where he earned his law degree. Wellon is the Oklahoma Assistant State Attorney General. In January of 2005, Wellon argued the constitutionality of Oklahoma’s primary election system before the United States Supreme Court. Wellon’s wife Kim received her doctor of Optometry from Northeastern State University in 1991. Both Wellon and Kim are Life Members of the Northeastern State University Alumni Association. Wellon serves on the Investment Committee of the Northeastern State University Foundation.

  Mr. Dan Sullivan
Dan graduated from Northeastern State University in 1985 with a bachelor of science in Business Administration, where he was a member of the President's Leadership Class. Dan resides in Tulsa, OK, where he represents District 71 in the Oklahoma House of Representatives. Rep. Sullivan is the vice chair of the Judiciary Committee, and he also serves on the Common Education, Health and Human Services, and Public Safety and Homeland Security Committees in the Oklahoma Legislature. Dan’s wife Janet is also a Northeastern State University alumnus. She received her bachelor of science in Marketing from Northeastern State University in 1985. Dan and Janet are both Life Members of the Northeastern State University Alumni Association. Dan serves on the Executive and Nominating Committees of the Northeastern State University Foundation Board.

  Mr. Maurice Turney
Maurice is a 1948 graduate of Northeastern State University with a bachelor of arts in Math and Business Administration. Maurice furthered his education by earning a master's degree in Education from the University of Houston in 1954. Maurice and his wife Clarice, who earned a bachelor of science in History from OSU in 1965, have resided in Tahlequah, OK, since their retirement in 1985. In 2000, Maurice was honored by the Northeastern State University Alumni Association as an Outstanding Alumnus. Maurice and Clarice are both Life Members of the Northeastern State University Alumni Association and are very involved in the Tahlequah community. Maurice sits on several boards including the Tahlequah Area Chamber of Commerce, Kiwanis Club, and the Historic Thompson House. Maurice serves on the Executive, Investment, and Audit Committees of the Northeastern State University Foundation Board.

  Mr. Gregg Wadley
Gregg graduated from Northeastern State University in 1969 with a bachelor of science in Math and Physics. Gregg worked in the oil industry until 1989 when he founded DataCom Sciences Inc. Gregg sold the company to the Chickasaw Nation in 2003, where he is now the executive vice president. Gregg is a member of Oklahoma Venture Forum, Native American Cultural Authority, and is the president and founder of the Oklahoma City Chapter of the American Indian Chamber of Commerce. Gregg and his wife Betsy reside in Oklahoma City, OK. Gregg is a Life Member of the Northeastern State University Alumni Association and was honored by the association as an Outstanding Alumnus in 2004.

  Mr. Francis Wheeler
Francis graduated with a bachelor of science degree from Northeastern State University in 1955. Francis graduated with a bachelor of science degree from Northeastern State University in 1955. He was a two sport letterman and earned honors two years each in basketball and football in 1953 and 1954. After graduation, Francis started his professional career as a teacher and coach. He later moved on to the collegiate level where he coached for the legendary Glen Dobbs at the University of Tulsa. Today, Francis is a partner and manager of several business ventures in the Tulsa metropolitan area and he serves as a member of the executive council for the NSU Athletic Association. Since joining the NSU Athletic Association, Francis has been very instrumental, personally and through contacts, in generating thousands of dollars for NSU’s student-athletes to enjoy their college experience.

  Ms. Tina Young
Tina graduated from Northeastern Statue University in 1992 with an MBA. She previously received a bachelor of science in Mass Communications from East Tennessee State University in 1981. She, along with her husband Ryker, currently own Lone Oak Ventures, located in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. LoneOak Ventures' primary focus is in Real Estate Development and Investment however, our portfolio includes numerous endeavors, ranging from Retail to Farm & Ranch interests. In addition to being a lifetime member of the NSU Alumni Association, she's on the Executive Board of Directors for KidSpace, a non-profit child advocacy center where she also serves as treasurer, and spearheads the Young Family Foundation.
